Meredith Wingate

Program Director, Fossil Energy
 
Meredith Wingate is the Energy Foundation’s Program Director, Fossil Energy. She previously served as the foundation’s Program Director, Coal, and before that was Acting Program Director, Energy Efficiency for two years and assisted with Coal Program strategy and grantmaking for four years. Before joining our staff, Meredith served as Director of Renewable and Climate Policy at the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), where she focused on providing policy assistance to states on the implementation of renewable policy, renewable certificate tracking, and the interaction of voluntary renewable markets with emerging climate policy. From 2001 to 2003, Meredith was a Renewable Policy Advisor at CRS, working on the China Sustainable Energy Program. Prior to working at CRS, she worked for six years in the area of air, water, and waste compliance and permitting for two large industrial facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. 
 
Meredith holds a Master of Environmental Management in Resource Economics and Policy from Duke University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
