Dr. Susan Tierney is a managing principal at the Analysis Group, an economic and policy consulting firm in Boston. Before becoming a consultant in 1995, Sue served as the assistant secretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Energy during the Clinton administration. She was previously Secretary of Environmental Affairs, Commissioner for the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and Chair of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority’s Board of Directors. Early in her career she was an assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine, and has taught more recently at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Sue holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Regional Planning from Cornell University.
