The Energy Foundation is delighted to welcome Jane L. Breyer as our new Senior Vice President for Strategic Partnerships. Jane will start in our San Francisco offices on February 29, 2016.
As a partnership of major philanthropic investors advancing clean energy, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance our capacity to engage and co-create with funding partners. Jane will lead a new team at the Energy Foundation focused on strategic partnerships to bring more resources to the field and accelerate change in the U.S. and China.
Jane brings 30 years of experience focused on connecting people, ideas, and resources. She has supported a wide range of philanthropic organizations in achieving their goals by leveraging her extensive networks, leadership experience, and approach to partnerships. We are pleased to welcome her to our senior team.
Most recently, as Vice President for Partnerships and Impact at HopeLab, Jane led the cultivation of key strategic partnerships to increase the foundation’s resources and leverage impact. HopeLab is part of the Omidyar Group, which represents the interests of Pam Omidyar and her husband Pierre, the founder of eBay. Prior to joining HopeLab in 2013, Jane served as Vice President for External Affairs at Envision Education, a public charter-school management organization serving low-income students. Before that, she spent 10 years as an independent consultant to organizations such as The Roberts Enterprise Development Fund, Contemporary Jewish Museum, the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, Friends of the Urban Forest, Red Cloud Indian School, Environmental Defense Fund, Frameline, and the Chez Panisse Foundation, among others.
From 1992 to 2001, Jane served as the Director of Development for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, where she oversaw all aspects of a large development operation. Before her work at the AIDS Foundation, Jane spent a decade in the arts including leadership roles at the San Francisco Ballet and the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York. Jane has guest lectured on the subjects of development and partnerships in various settings including UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, the University of Michigan Ross School of Business/Center for Positive Organizations, National HIV/AIDS Skills Building Conferences, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (formerly NSFRE).
Jane has also been a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts and San Francisco Grants for the Arts. We look forward to working with Jane to evolve our partnership model and to accelerate change to build a clean energy future.
