Alyssa Cheung

Program Associate, West Policy


Alyssa works with Katie McCormack, Program Director, West Policy, to administer grants and develop and deploy program strategies. She manages communications with Western policy grantees. She previously served as Program Associate for the Energy Foundation’s Coal Program.

Alyssa has worked internationally as an environmental educator in Bhutan and as an English teacher for a monastic college in China. Through the Princeton in Asia fellowship, she served as a researcher and trainer for a community forestry organization based in Bangkok, Thailand. Prior to joining Energy Foundation, she worked for small nonprofit organizations in the East Bay focused on food justice, food systems, and agricultural land revitalization.

Alyssa holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Yale University, and also studied abroad at the International Sustainable Development Studies Institute in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
