Ryan Costello represented Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District from 2015 to 2019. In the U.S. House of Representatives, he was known for his pragmatic approach, and ranked among the more bipartisan members of Congress for his work to bridge divides on climate issues.
While in Congress, Ryan served on several influential committees, including Energy and Commerce, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Veterans’ Affairs. He generally supported an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy, and his record includes support for renewable energy development and clean technology as part of a diversified strategy, advocacy for emissions reductions and climate resilience, and engagement with environmental and business groups to promote sustainable infrastructure and clean energy jobs.
Before his election to Congress, Ryan built a career in local government, serving as Chester County Recorder of Deeds, and later as a Chester County Commissioner, where he chaired the board from 2013 to 2015. Today, he is the Founder and Principal of Ryan Costello Strategies, a governmental affairs firm, where he advises both Fortune 500 companies and trade associations on public policy advocacy and strategic communications. He also engages in public policy discourse through media appearances, op-eds, and speaking engagements, including at American University, where he has been a visiting lecturer since 2019. Ryan also previously served on the boards at Mawson Infrastructure Group and Phunware, Inc.
