Aimee Witteman

Vice President, States and Regions Program

As Vice President (VP) of the States and Regions Program, Aimee leads the EF team comprised of policy, campaign, and communications experts investing in place-based campaigns in two dozen states across the country’s four major regions. She provides program management to oversee the implementation of EF’s strategic vision, and program leadership to integrate strategy, processes, budgeting, and management across the program teams.

Most recently, Aimee served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Intergovernmental & External Affairs with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), where she advanced the Biden-Harris administration’s Build Back Better agenda, managed a team of regional specialists, and facilitated positive working relationships between the DOE and governors and mayors. Prior to that, Aimee was the U.S. States Director at the Climate Imperative Foundation where she led the design and launch of the States program aimed at building an equitable and just energy economy. She also designed, founded, and led the Midwest Climate and Energy program at the McKnight Foundation in Minneapolis, and served as executive director for the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition in Washington, D.C.
