Carmelita Mitchell manages grantmaking and contracting operations, systems, and data. She is responsible for the policies and procedures to ensure the efficient processing of grants and contracts, ensuring timeliness, quality, and compliance.
Prior to joining our staff, Carmelita served as Director, Grants Management at Humanity United from 2009 to 2015. While there she redesigned and integrated their grantmaking processes. She worked closely with program staff and grantees to incorporate best practices, improve communication, and increase quality. Prior to Humanity United, she worked as a grants manager at the Russell Berrie and the JEHT foundations. In both positions she managed due diligence, compliance, and reporting efforts, aligning those practices with mission and strategy.
