As Program Director, Midwest Policy, Dan Scripps develops regional and state energy policy strategies, with a strong focus on the power sector and in Energy Foundation priority states. He maintains and grows new relationships with grantees, funding partners, policymakers, opinion leaders, allies, and other stakeholders. In addition to being part of Energy Foundation’s Policy Program, Dan is a member of the States and Regions Team.
Dan joins us from his roles with the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council and the Institute for Energy Innovation, where he helped lead Michigan-based efforts in clean-energy business organizing. He previously served as a State Representative in the Michigan Legislature, advised on cutting-edge domestic and international energy projects with a leading global law firm, worked on energy finance issues with Advanced Energy Economy, and developed novel public-private partnerships around land conservation in Northern Michigan.
Dan received his B.A. in Political Science from Alma College and a J.D. from the University of Michigan.
