Fanta Kamakaté

Program Director, Clean Transportation

Fanta Kamakaté leads the strategy development and campaign design for EF’s philanthropic investments to reduce pollution from the U.S. transportation sector, by applying an intersectional understanding of the building, power, and industrial sectors. Fanta develops and funds multi-year strategies at the national level and advises on strategies to influence regional and state policies that achieve ambitious and regionally aligned policy goals related to the transportation sector.  

Most recently, Fanta led the Climate and Energy strategy at the Pisces Foundation, where she focused on accelerating the reduction of climate “super pollutants,” including methane, black carbon, and hydrofluorocarbons. Prior to this, Fanta was the Chief Program Officer at the International Council on Clean Transportation, where she oversaw the global organization’s research programs informing transportation policies that mitigate climate change and benefit public health.
