Jeremy Madsen

Program Director, Public Engagement

As Program Director, Public Engagement, Jeremy works with the Policy and Strategic Communications programs—as well as the multidisciplinary States and Regions Team—to develop national campaign strategies, strengthen advocacy networks, and elevate new voices for clean energy and climate action.

Before joining our staff, Jeremy served for 10 years as the CEO of the Greenbelt Alliance. In that role, he set the overall strategic direction, developed and supervised staff, raised a multimillion-dollar budget, managed a board, and played a unique role in dynamic coalitions taking on the issues of growth, transportation, equity, and the business environment of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Prior to running Greenbelt Alliance, Jeremy worked for the San Francisco Foundation, where he created new partnerships between funders and community organizations. His work included managing coalitions, working with local governments and regional agencies, and making grants. Jeremy has worked on candidate, ballot, international trade, and transportation policy campaigns

Jeremy earned an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon, and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from George Washington University.
