Katie Chiles Ottenweller

Program Director, Southeast Policy

Katie fosters development of clean energy and climate policies and strategies in the Southeast, a high potential region for achieving meaningful policy outcomes. Working closely with the Southeast Regional Team, regional and state consultants, and EF’s other policy experts, Katie develops and funds strategies that will achieve ambitious, equitable, and regionally-aligned policy goals in the power, transportation, climate, industry, and building sectors.

Katie previously was the Southeast Director at Vote Solar, where she worked to advance policies in Georgia and Florida to bring solar to the mainstream for all Americans by developing and executing strategies to create bipartisan solar policies. Prior to that, Katie worked for the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) as a Senior Attorney & Leader of Solar Initiative, using the power of the law to protect the environmental health of the Southeast and leading SELC’s Solar Initiative work in six states to overcome barriers to access affordable solar energy.
