Kimberly Bruce

Program Director, Midwest Communications

Kimberly contributes a strategic communications perspective to EF’s state and regional strategies in the Midwest; manages EF’s state communications work and other regional communications contracts and grants; develops, tests, and shares guidance to advance key narratives across states and regions; serves as a point to connect state stories and national communications partners; and builds strong relationships and communications capacity among EF grantees throughout the region.

Kimberly came to EF from Energy Media, a collaboration of EF and Resource Media, where she served as the Midwest Communications Director. Prior to that, Kimberly was the Director of Marketing and Public Relations/Human Resources at a professional services firm where she developed and managed marketing strategy, strategic planning, and public relations activities for various markets, created thoughtful brand positioning, cultivated media relationships, and led all human resources functions. Kimberly also served as the first Manager of Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing and a Public Information Officer with the City of Rockford, Illinois, and its police department, positioned as an advisor to and extension of the city’s senior leadership team, including the mayor, department heads, and police chief.
