Megan Sparks

Program Associate, States and Regions

Megan Sparks supports multiple regional teams to plan and manage projects and budgets, make and administer grants, support the work of the States and Regions team, and foster close collaboration and alignment with other teams at EF. Megan manages projects within and outside teams, develops and implements systems and processes to facilitate internal and external collaboration, provides administrative support, and plans and supports meetings, conferences, and other events.

Prior to U.S. Energy Foundation, Megan started her career in philanthropy at the Greater Houston Community Foundation as a Donor Services Associate, where she processed $188 million in donations for donor-advised funds. She worked at Thousand Currents as the Philanthropic Partnerships Coordinator, assisting with gift processing, fundraising campaigns, and grant administration to fund grants for climate justice in the Global South. Megan was also the Executive Assistant at the Houston Center for Photography. Megan is an artist and art activist; she co-founded the Houston BIPOC Artist Accountability Coalition as a data and research project that collected and analyzed data from 23 art institutions regarding equity and racial justice.
