Miah Marie Williams supports the work of the Senior Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and the Senior Manager, DEI. Serving as “air traffic control” for this program, she is the primary point person for arranging meetings with staff, consultants, grantees, and funders; tracking and managing the workflow of the DEI team; and collaborating and coordinating with teams and programs across Energy Foundation to integrate our institutional values.
Miah Marie’s previously worked at Vessel as a recruiting intern focused on diversity and inclusion. Her responsibilities included executing creative ways to engage with individuals from underrepresented groups, and strategizing ways to reduce implicit bias within the team and help lead trainings and events to educate the team on implicit bias, inclusiveness, and promoting diversity. Prior to that, she served as Intercultural Programs President at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, where her responsibilities included creating a space on campus for students of different cultural backgrounds in order to implement diversity on campus in a way that celebrated individuals backgrounds.
