Omer Farooque leads the development, planning, and execution of corporate communications strategies in alignment with organizational mission and strategies. He uses diverse communications tools and resources to protect and enhance our brand, while leading on all media engagement and reputation management. Omer works across teams to ensure consistent and effective corporate communications, while engaging stakeholders on emerging issues impacting the climate and clean energy field at large.

Prior to his current role, Omer served as head of Public Affairs in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he led strategic communications for one of its core agencies. He also worked as the Midwest Regional Communications Director for Energy Media, where he built out the communications infrastructure in the Midwest. Omer’s additional experience includes working for Representative Pramila Jayapal, Hillary for America, and Melissa Gilbert, as well as for Democracy for America and Resource Media.
