Shannon Small works with grantees, consultants, and funders to drive building decarbonization work forward. She manages the program budget, reviews grant proposals, and drafts reports. She collaborates and coordinates with other Energy Foundation teams and external partners, all to address the building sector climate crisis so that people are better off.
Shannon previously served as Senior Program Associate for the Energy Efficiency For All program. Prior to joining the Energy Foundation, she conducted research in Scotland on the relationship between air and water quality and human health. Shannon also held roles at Greenpeace USA, where she served first as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) intern leading organization-wide diversity and equity training and policy development, then in a funder-facing role as a donor relations representative, where she helped improve donor retention.
