Sierra Martinez focuses on optimizing energy use across the utility, industrial, and buildings sectors. He supports a network of grantees and teams that drive innovative policies across the country. Sierra engages in cross-programmatic national strategy development.
Previously, Sierra taught energy policy at University of California, Berkeley Law and University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and served as a legal director at the Natural Resources Defense Counsel. Sierra has testified before agencies and legislative audiences on energy issues. He played a critical role in the development and passage of several California energy policies addressing energy efficiency, nuclear retirements, and grid operations.
